CR0SS-BORDER ROAD TRANSPORT ACT, 1998 (ACT NO. 4 OF 1998)

AMENDMENT OF THE REGULATIONS IN TERMS OF SECTION 51 OF THE CROSS-B0RDER ROAD TRANSPORT ACT.

The Minister of Transport has under section 51 of the Cross-Border Road Transport Act, 1998 (Act No. 4 of 1998), made the regulations in me Schedule.

SCHEDULE

Definition

In the Schedule, unless the context otherwise indicates, the expression "the Regulations" means the Regulations In banns of section 51 of the Cross-Border Road Transport act published by Government Notice No. R464 of 3 April 1998 and R 6608 of 13^th August 1999

Amendment of Regulation 7 of the Regulations

Regulation 7 of the Regulations is hereby amended

(a) by the replacement of subregulation (2) with the following subregulation:

"(2) An application fee is payable to the Agency -

for a new application -

for a cabotage permit for a period of three months, six months or one year or for a fixed number of journeys, to the amount of R110, plus R110 for each trailer and semi-trailer;

for a temporary cabotage permit, to the amount of R110, plus R110 for each trailer and semi-trailer;

for a cross-border road transport permit for a period of three months, six months or one year or for a fixed number of journeys, authorising the transport of freight or passengers or tourists, to the amount of R110;

for a temporary cross-border road transport permit authorising the transport of freight or passengers or tourists, to the amount of R110;

for an application for renewal -

of a permit referred to in paragraph (a)(i), to the amount of R330, plus R330 for each trailer and semi-trailer;

of a cross-border permit for a period of three months, six months or one year or for a Fred number of journeys, authorising the transport of passengers or tourists, to the amount of R330;

of a cross-border mad transport permit for a period of three months, six months or one year or for a fixed number of journeys, authorising the transport of freight, to the amount of R110;

for an application for postponement of an application for renewal of a permit, to the amount of R110 per vehicle per month;

for an application for a duplicate permit, to the amount of R55; and

for an application for a replacement of a vehicle or particulars pertaining to the vehicle concerned, as reflected on the permit, to the amount of R55;

(b) by the replacement of subregulation (3) with the following subregulation:

"(3) After a permit, renewal of a permit, duplicate permit, or replacement of a vehicle or particulars pertaining to the vehicle concerned, as reflected on the permit, is granted, an issuing fee is payable to the Agency -

with respect to the issuance for the first time

of a permit referred to in subregulation (2)(a)(i)-

for a period of three months, to the amount of R715, plus R715 for each trailer and semi-trailer;

for a period of six months, to the amount of R1430, plus R1430 for each trailer and semi-trailer;

for a period of one year, to the amount of R2860, plus R2860 for each trailer and semi-trailer;

of a permit referred to in subregulation (2)(a)(xii) for a period not exceeding 14 days, to the amount of R220, plus R220 for each trailer and semi-trailer;

of a permit referred to in subregulation (2)(a)(iii)

for a period of three months, to the amount of R220;

for a period of six months, to the amount of R550;

for a period of one year, to the amount of R1210;

in the case of a permit referred to in subregulation (2)(a)(iv), for a period not exceeding 14 days, to the amount of R110;

with respect to the issuance of renewal-

of a permit referred to in subregulation (2)(a)(i)

for a period of three months, to the amount of R715, plus R715 for each trailer and semi-trailer;

for a period of six months, to the amount of R1430, plus R1430 for each trailer and semi-trailer;

for a period of one year, to the amount of R2860, plus R2860 for each trailer and semi-trailer;

of a permit referred to in subregulation (2)(a)(iii)

for a period of three months, to the amount of R330;

for a period of six months, to the amount of R660;

for a period of one year, to the amount of R1320';

with respect to the issuance of a duplicate permit, to the amount of R55; and

with respect to the issuance of a replacement of a vehicle or the particulars pertaining to the vehicle concerned, as reflected on the permit, to the amount of R55;

Title and commencement

These regulations are called the Amendment of the Regulations in terms of Section 51 of the Cross-border Road Transport Act and shall come into operation on 7^th July 2000.
