DETERMINATION OF PROFESSIONAL CONTROLLING BODY IN TERMS OF SECTION 1(vi)(b) AND DESIGNATION OF A BODY FOR PURPOSES OF SECTION 5 OF THE CONTINGENCY FEES ACT, 1997
I, Abdulah Mohamed Omar, Minister of Justice -
hereby determine in terms of section 1(vi) (b) of the Contingency Fees Act, 1997 (Act No. 66 of 1997), and for purposes of the said Act, as a professional controlling body in respect of an advocate, the bodies in the Schedule of which such an advocate is a member; and
hereby designate in terms of section 5 of the said Act and for purposes of the said section, in the case of a legal practitioner who is not a member of a professional controlling body, the bodies in the Schedule in the area in which such a legal practitioner practice.
