PROCLAMATION

by the President of the Republic of South Africa

AMENDMENT OF SCHEDULE 2 TO THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT, 1994

In terms of section 7(5)(a)(ii) of the Public Service Act, 1994 (promulgated under Proclamation No. 103 of 1994), I hereby amend, at the request of the relevant Premiers, Schedule 2 to the said Act-

  1. in respect of the Eastern Cape-
  1. by the deletion of the words "Department of Finance and Provincial Expenditure" and "Head: Finance and Provincial Expenditure", where they appear in columns 1 and 2 of Schedule 2;
  2. by the insertion in columns 1 and 2 of Schedule 2, after the words "Department of Safety and Liaison" and "Head: Safety and Liaison", of the words "Department of Social Development" and "Head: Social Development", respectively; and by the substitution of the words "Department of Welfare" and "Head: Welfare", where they appear in columns 1 and 2 of Schedule 2, for the words "Provincial Treasury" and "Head: Provincial Treasury", respectively;
  1. in respect of the Northern Province-
  1. by the substitution of the words "Department of Agriculture and Environment" and "Head: Agriculture and Environment", where they appear in columns 1 and 2 of Schedule 2, for the words "Department of Agriculture" and "Head: Agriculture", respectively; and
  2. by the substitution of the words "Department of Finance, Economic Affairs and Tourism" and "Head: Finance, Economic Affairs and Tourism" where they appear in columns 1 and 2 of Schedule 2, for the words "Department of Finance and Economic Development" and "Head: Finance and Economic Development" respectively; and
  1. in respect of the North West-
  1. by the deletion of the words "Department of Traditional and Corporate Affairs" and "Head: Traditional and Corporate Affairs", where they appear in columns 1 and 2 of Schedule 2, respectively;
  2. by the insertion in columns 1 and 2 of Schedule 2, after the words "Department of Health" and "Head: Health", of the words "Department of Roads and Public Works" and "Head: Roads and Public Works", respectively; and 
  3. by the substitution of the words "Department of Transport, Roads and Public Works" and "Head: Transport, Roads and Public Works", where they appear in columns 1 and 2 of Schedule 2, for the words "Department of Transport" and "Head: Transport", respectively.
