PROCLAMATION

by the President of the Republic of South Africa

COMMENCEMENT OF THE FINANCIAL INTELLIGENCE CENTRE ACT, 2001 (ACT No. 38 of 2001)

In terms of section 82 of the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, 2001 (Act No. 38 of 2001), I hereby determine 1 February 2002 as the date on which the following sections of the said Act shall come into operation:

• Section 1;
• Chapter 1: Sections 2 to 16;
• Chapter 2: Sections 17 to 20;
• Chapter 5: Sections 72 to 82, except Section 79.
