PROCLAMATION
by the President of the Republic of South Africa
DECLARATION OF THE STRONG WIND AND HEAVY RAIN EXPERIENCED IN THE EASTERN CAPE PROVINCE TO BE A DISASTER
Under the powers vested in me by section 26 of the Fund-Raising Act, 1978 (Act No. 107 of 1978), I hereby, declare the strong wind followed by heavy rain experienced in the Eastern Cape Province that caused severe damage and loss on the 31st December 2001 in the following Magisterial Districts namely: Mt Ayliff, Mt Frere, Maluti and Umzimkhulu to be a disaster for the purposes of this Act.
