PROCLAMATION

by the President of the Republic of South Africa

PROMOTION OF NATIONAL UNITY AND RECONCILIATION ACT, 1995 (ACT NO. 34 OF 1995): RECONVENING AND DISSOLUTION OF THE TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION COMMISSION

Under section 43(3) of the Promotion of National Unity and Reconciliation Act, 1995 (Act No. 34 of 1995), I hereby determine -

1. 1 June 2001 as the date on which the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, established by section 2 of the Act, is reconvened for the purpose of completing its final report; and

2. 31 December 2001 as the date for the dissolution of the said Commission.
