PROCLAMATION

by the President of the Republic of South Africa

NATIONAL HEALTH LABORATORY SERVICE ACT, 2000 (ACT No. 37 OF 2000): COMMENCEMENT

Under section 29 of the National Health Laboratory Service Act, 2000 (Act No. 37 of 2000), I hereby determine 10 May 2001 as the date on which the said Act shall, with the exception of sections 15, 16, 17, 20, 21 and 24 and items 2, 5, 6 and 7 of the Schedule as well as-

1. forensic chemistry laboratories under the control of the Department of Health;
2. National Centre for Occupational Health;
3. forensic pathology laboratories under the control of the provincial departments responsible for health; and
4. KwaZulu-Natal Province, come into operation.
