PROCLAMATION

by the President of the Republic of South Africa

ASSIGNMENT OF ADMINISTRATION OF LAWS UNDER ITEM 14(1) OF SCHEDULE 6 TO THE CONSTITUTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA, 1996

Under item 14(1) of Schedule to the Constitution of the republic of South Africa, 1996 (Act No. 108 of 1996) (hereinafter referred to as the "Constitution"), I hereby assign the Administration of-

1. sections 2,3,4,5, 6, 27 and 133 of the Road traffic Act, 1989 (Act No. 29 of 1989), in so far as the powers, functions and duties of the Administrator are concerned; and
2. the regulations made under section 132 of the Road Traffic Act, 1989, in so far as the powers, functions and duties of the Administrator are concerned, for the purpose of, or which relate to the sections mentioned in paragraph (a),

excluding those provisions if any, of the said Act mentioned in paragraph (a) which do not fall within the functional areas specified in Schedule 4 or 5 to the Constitution, to an authority within a provincial executive designated by the Executive Council of the province concerned.
