PROCLAMATION UNDER SECTION 20 OF THE PROMOTION OF NATIONAL UNITY AND RECONCILIATION ACT, 1995 (ACT No. 34 OF 1995)

Notice is hereby given that amnesty in terms of section 20(1) of the Promotion of National Unity and Reconciliation Act, 1995 (Act No. 34 of 1995), was granted -

1. on 4 August 1999 to -

1. THEMBINKOSI NGUBENI (date of birth 19 September 1930);
2. TREVOR MASILO (date of birth 20 November 1970); and
3. THOZAMILE EDWIN SIMELANE (date of birth 17 September 1963),

1. the murder of NICHOLAS MASANGO TSHABALALA;

5. the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition; and

2. six counts of attempted murder of -

1. the collection of money for the purchasing of firearms and ammunition; and
2. the supplying of them to members of the SDUs;

27. the commanding of SDUs in the course of clashes with IFP members and the issuing of instructions that resulted in attacks on and injuries to IFP members;

54. the acts of arson and general damage to property belonging to such members;

81. the murder(s) or attempted murder(s) that might have occurred during the exchange of gunfire between SDUs and IFP members, committed at or near Buthelezi Street during 1993, Mazibuko Street during 1993 and Mshayazafe Hostel during 1994; and

9. MZWANDILE EPHRAIM MZONDO (identity number 6912126057082), in respect of -

27. the unlawful possession of three AK 47 rifles and ammunition;
54. arson in respect of a house belonging to a landlady at Thokoza where one Mr MAVUSA, an IFP member, was a tenant;
81. the murder or attempted murder of IFP members that may have been committed at or near Buthelezi Street;
108. the unlawful and forceful evicting of IFP members at Buthelezi Street;

27. the attempted murder of an unknown IFP member, committed at Mkatizwa School;
54. the murder or attempted murder of IFP members, committed at Buthelezi Street;
