PROCLAMATION

by the President of the Republic of South Africa

DETERMINATION OF THE REMUNERATION OF THE CHAIRPERSON, THE DEPUTY CHAIRPERSON AND COMMISSIONERS OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION

Under the powers vested in me by section 6 (1) of the Public Service Commission Act, 1997 (Act No. 46 of 1997), as, amended by section 16 of the Public Service Laws Amendment Act, 1998 (Act No. 86 of 1998),1 hereby determine -

  1. the following revised remuneration of the Chairperson, the Deputy Chairperson and Commissioners -
  1. with effect from their respective dates of appointment:

Deputy Chairperson: R320 286 per annum;
Commissioners: R245 898 per annum; and

  1. with effect from 1 July 1999:

Chairperson: R348 798 per annum;
Deputy Chairperson: R333 096 per annum
Commissioners: R255 735 per annum.

  1. that any future improvements in the remuneration of the Chairperson, the Deputy Chairperson and Commissioners shall be linked to their performance.
