PROCLAMATION

by the President of the Republic of South Africa

COMMENCEMENT OF SECTIONS 2, 6, 7, 11 TO 18 AND 20 OF THE JUDICIAL MATTERS A1IMENDMENT ACT, 1998 (ACT No. 34 OF 1998)

Under section 26 of the Judicial Matters Amendment Act, 1998 (Act No. 34 of 1998), I hereby fix—

1. 15 January 1999 as the date on which sections 2, 6, 7, 11, except in so far as it inserts section 16B in the Criminal Law Second Amendment Act, 1992 (Act No. 126 of 1992), 12 to 18 and 20; and
2. 1 April 1999 as the date on which section 11, in so far as it inserts section 16B in the Criminal Law Second Amendment Act, 1992 (Act No. 126 of 1992), of the said Act shall come into operation.
