COMMENCEMENT OF SECTION 1 (a) OF THE LEGAL AID AMENDMENT ACT, 1996 (ACT No. 20 OF 1996)

Under section 8 of the Legal Aid Amendment Act, 1996 (Act No. 20 of 1996), I hereby fix 17 October 1997 as the date on which section 1 (a) of the said Act shall come into operation.
