PROCLAMATION IN TERMS OF SECTION 20 (6) OF THE PROMOTION OF NATIONAL UNITY AND RECONCILIATION ACT, 1995 (ACT NO. 34 OF 1995)
Notice is hereby given that amnesty in terms of section 20 (1) of Act No. 34 of 1995 was granted-
(1) on 22 May 1997 to DICK ABSOLOM NGWENYA (born 1954-06-03) in respect of the unlawful possession of one AK 47 rifle, one 9 mm Star pistol, one Stetchken pistol and 48 rounds of ammunition on 12 November 1993 in the District of Pietermaritzburg;
(2) on 28 May 1997 to HENDRIK JACOBUS STEYN (born 1962-03-15) in respect of the murder on 14 August 1992 of Michael Mthethwa and Simon Msweni at Tshukulu Reserve, KwaZulu-Natal;
(3) on 12 June 1997 to WILSON MOGOTWO M. SEBILOANE (born 1968-03-03) in respect of-
(i) the attempted murder of Van Heerden and a companion; and
(ii) the unlawful possession of a fire-arm and ammunition, on 25 May 1991 in the District of Johannesburg;
(4) on 14 July 1997 to CELINHLANHLA ZENETH MZIMELA (Identity Number 6509155815081) in respect of the murder of Mkholodaka Gumede on 29 February 1992 at Makholokholo Reserve near Mtunzini; and
(5) on 20 May 1997 to TWO-BOY JACK (born 1954-04-10) in respect of a count of unlawful possession of a fire-arm and ammunition on 22 July 1992 in the District of The Cape, which amnesty is additional to the amnesty of which notice was given by Proclamation No. R. 36 of 23 May 1997.
