IMMUNITIES TO BE CONFERRED ON REPRESENTATIVES OF CERTAIN STATES AND
INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATIONS PARTICIPATING IN THE INFORMATION SOCIETY AND
DEVELOPMENT (ISAD) CONFERENCE TO BE HELD FROM 13 TO 15 MAY 1996 IN THE REPUBLIC
OF SOUTH AFRICA

      Under section 4 (c) (i) of the Diplomatic Immunities and Privileges Act,
   1989 (Act No.  74 of 1989), I hereby confer upon the representatives of
   certain States and international organisations mentioned in the Schedule,
   while participating in the Information Society and Development (ISAD)
   Conference, the immunities mentioned in the Schedule.

      Given under my Hand and the Seal of the Republic of South Africa at Cape
   Town this Seventh day of May, One thousand Nine hundred and Ninety-six.

                                    SCHEDULE

      1. Unless otherwise provided for, representatives of the States mentioned
   in paragraph 2 and of the international organisations mentioned in paragraph
   3, shall be immune from legal process with respect to all words spoken and
   acts performed by them in their official capacity while participating in
   the Information Society and Development (ISAD) Conference, except when the
   relevant State or international organisation waives this immunity.

      2. Representatives of the following States shall enjoy the immunity
   mentioned in paragraph 1:
