COMMENCEMENT OF CERTAIN SECTIONS OF THE PROMOTION OF NATIONAL UNITY AND
RECONCILIATION ACT, 1995 (ACT No.  34 OF 1995)

      Under section 49 of the Promotion of National Unity and Reconciliation
   Act, 1995 (Act No.  34 of 1995), I hereby determine(a) 10 April 1996 as the
   date on which sections 3, 4 (a) up to and including (f), 4 (h), 5 (e) up to
   and including (g), 5 (i), 5 (k), 5 (m), 11, 14, 15, 18 up to and including
   22, 25 up to and including 27, 29 up to and including 34, 37, 43, 44 and 47
   of the said Act shall come into operation; and

         (b) 1 June 1996 as the date on which section 48 of the said Act shall
         come into operation.

      Given under my Hand and the Seal of the Republic of South Africa at
   Johannesburg this Tenth day of April, One thousand Nine hundred and
   Ninety-six.
