The South African Government noted with sadness the tragic loss of life following the capsizing of the Senegalese passenger ferry MS Joola on Friday, 27 September 2002 on a journey from Ziguinchor to Dakar.
The Government of South Africa offers its condolences to the families of the victims and its support and encouragement to the people and Government of the Republic of Senegal at this difficult time.
