CRAWFORD VON ABO RELEASED ON BAIL ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON

The South African farmer Crawford von Abo arrested in Zimbabwe on Monday for allegedly bridging the Land Acquisition Amendment Act was released on R10,000 bail on Tuesday afternoon.

Foreign Affairs spokesman Ronnie Mamoepa said the South African high commissioner in Zimbabwe would visit von Abo and other South African farmers in Meenedzi on Wednesday.

"At the sametime the South African high commissioner has made the presentation to the Zimbabwe Foreign Ministry regarding six farms owned by south Africans earmarked for land redistribution."
