Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma today, Friday 2 August regrettably announced the postponement of President Thabo Mbeki's State Visit to Botswana, which was scheduled for 13-15 August 2002.
The postponement was occasioned by the need for President Mbeki to finalise preparations for the forthcoming World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) later this month and some urgent tasks that the President has to undertake as Chairperson of the African Union (AU)
"Accordingly, President Mbeki wishes to expresses his deep appreciation of President Festus Mogae's understanding and support for the postponement of the state visit," said Minister Dlamini Zuma
