Gauteng Premier Mbhazima Shilowa and Health MEC Gwen Ramokgopa will on Tuesday, 23 July, officially open the Folateng differentiated amenities project at Johannesburg Hospital.
The project seeks to provide health care to medical aid and private patients in public hospitals. The first of four pilot sites - Johannesburg Hospital opened 27 beds on 15 May 2002. Bed occupancy has increased rapidly.
Other institutions to benefit from this project include Helen Joseph Hospital, Pretoria West Hospital and Sebokeng Hospital.
