WORLD SUMMIT ROADSHOW HITS EKURHULENI BY STORM!!

The Road to Johannesburg campaign, which was started to mobilise South Africans to participate in the World Summit on Sustainable Development, makes a stop at Ekurhuleni on Sunday, 21 July 2002.

To add a funky feel to the event, a line-up of artists including Alaska, Thebe, Arthur, Mafikizolo and Mdu has been put together.

The artists will perform some tracks from their latest albums. Music lovers are expected to be captivated for much longer at the Germiston Lake where they will celebrate the country's hosting of the World Summit on Sustainable Development.

The free concert is part of the package of activities aimed at creating awareness among South Africans to then influence the agenda of the World Summit on Sustainable Development. The Summit will be held in Johannesburg from 26 August to 4 September 2002.

The Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism (DEAT) has taken the roadshow to Eastern Cape, Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga etc. But as the Summit approaches the momentum has come nearer to the host city.

Ekurhuleni Executive Mayor Duma Nkosi will take part in the roadshow.
