MINISTER, DULLAH OMAR WILL VISIT THE SCENE OF THE MOZAMBIQUE ACCIDENT AND VICTIMS IN HOSPITALS

The Minister of Transport, Dullah Omar will be visiting the scene of the train accident near Moamba, Mozambique tomorrow. He will also visit the victims of the crash in hospitals on Wednesday May 29, 2002. Minister Omar said the President has conveyed his condolences and sympathies to the people of Mozambique and indicated that our Department of Foreign Affairs has been in constant interaction with our mission in Maputo.

The Minister will be assessing, together with his Mozambican counterpart - Minister Tomas Salomao, the immediate needs of the Mozambican Authorities in terms of any assistance with the investigations. Omar would be accompanied by his Director-General, Professor Medard Rwelamira and technical experts from Spoornet and the South African Rail Commuter Corporation (SARCC).
