The Speaker and 25 MP's from both Houses of Parliament will be participating in the launch of the Moral Regeneration Movement (MRM) on April 18th 2002 at the Waterkloof Air Force Base in Pretoria.
Parliament needs to be part of the partnership of all organs of governance and civil society that must address the task of rebuilding the moral fabric of our society. We need to do more than support the Moral Regeneration Movement to legislate, and to provide a forum for debate.
It is incumbent on this institution and on each one of us as public representatives to engage our constituencies, through leadership and advocacy, and above all by example to live up to the moral and spiritual values, inherent in our culture and articulated in our Constitution.
