The Ministry of Communications wishes to correct the erroneous impression that has been created regarding the regulator's call for the ministry's intervention in its current dispute with Telkom. Contrary to the reports that ICASA has called on the minister to intervene, neither the Minister nor the Director - General has received any motivation from the regulator on why and how the intervention should take place. Since the matter - which is undoubtedly regulatory in nature- is before the court of law; the Minister looks forward to its amicable resolution.
