The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, as Coordinator of the regional efforts to facilitate Peace, Security and Stability in the Comoros will host a Ministerial Meeting on the Comoros in Pretoria, South Africa, on Friday, 18 January 2002.
The meeting will review the situation in the Comoros in light of the recent developments in the Archipelago, notably the success of the Constitutional Referendum on 23 December 2001, the ongoing discussions among the Comorian parties concerning the formation of the transitional Government of National Unity and the organization of presidential and local elections.
It is expected that the relevant Ministers of Foreign Affairs will consult on the best ways to assist the Comorian parties in the successful completion of the final phase of the process of national reconciliation.
