Minister of Foreign Affairs Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma joins millions of our people in expressing her deepest sorrow and sadness at the passing away of Joe Modise, member of the ANC NEC, former commando of MK and Former Defence Minister on Monday.
Dlamini-Zuma said: "He will always be remembered for his devotion, commitment, dedication and selfless sacrifice in the service of the people of our country (South Africa). We feel deeply indebted to the unflinching efforts of heroes like Joe Modise, that our country is on a firm road of democracy, justice and peace.
"On behalf of our department and our missions abroad, we express our heartfelt condolences to members of the Modise family, all friends and colleagues."
