President Mbeki will meet the Trade Union Working Group at the Union Buildings at 9am on Friday, 23 November 2001. This working group is one of four that meets on a regular basis with President Mbeki and relevant Ministers to build consensus on broad economic issues affecting SA. A photo opportunity will be possible at the beginning of the meeting. Photographers are encouraged to be at the Union Buildings by 08h30 for security vetting.
After the meeting, scheduled to end at 11h00, a doorstep interview with some participants will be arranged at the Union Buildings.
Interested media are asked to bring along their press cards.
The President will also visit the Reserve Bank at 14h00 on the same day for a guided tour of its facilities. This event is closed to the media due to a shortage of space. However, media are invited to attend the cocktail reception at the end of the tour at 15h30 at the Reserve Bank HQ at 370 Church Street, Pretoria. Interested media need to submit their names to Cathy Powers at 012 313 4420 for accreditation.
