The Minister of Social Development Dr Zola Skweyiya has urged all people living with HIV/AIDS to work closely with the Government in ensuring moral and other forms of support particularly for children affected.
"I encourage all people living with HIV/AIDS to have hope and work with determination because to have HIV/AIDS does not mean the end of the world. In actual fact it means the person affected embracing the family and community and vice versa. All of us must show love, care and support for people affected," said the Minister.
The minister was addressing over a thousand people gathered at an imbizo at the Rubusana Training Centre in Mdantsane as well as people living with HIV/AIDS who work at the Khayalethemba Home Based Care.
The Minister's speech marks the end of the visit to East London and he will be proceeding to Port Elizabeth tomorrow. (See attached programme)
This is part of the Minister's Provincial Road-Show focusing on children titled "Nakekel' Izingane-Yakh'lsizwe", "Care for the Children-Build the Nation" which he is conducting in all the provinces until the beginning of next year.
