The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma today, Thursday 2 August conveyed her sincere congratulations to Ms Cheryl Carolus on her appointment as the CEO- Designate of SATOUR.
Minister Dlamini Zuma expressed her conviction that Ms. Carolus' energy, drive and creativity will stand her in good stead in her new area of responsibility in tourism. The Minister is of the view that the area of tourism stands to benefit a great deal and will be strengthened by the person of the calibre of Ms. Carolus. In this context, Ms. Carolus will not be lost to the Department of Foreign Affairs, as tourism is an intrinsic part of the work of the department.
The Minister also congratulated Ms Carolus on her two major diplomatic triumphs while in London - the acclaimed Celebrate South Africa campaign and the successful State Visit of President Mbeki to the United Kingdom. These events, the Minister says, have contributed immensely to the positive perception of South Africa and have placed bilateral relations with the government and people of the UK on a new plane, while enhancing our standing and stature in global international relations.
