The Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Development, has taken note of the judgment delivered by Mr Justice T.T. Spoelstra and Judge, George Webster, pertaining to certain sections of the Sexual Offences Act which criminalise prostitution.
The Ministry will study the judgment as soon as we receive it and will only then, issue a comprehensive statement. The Ministry is furthermore mindful of the fact that the judgment must still be confirmed by the Constitutional Court and will decide whether to oppose it before the Constitutional Court or not.
