Gauteng MEC for Safety and Liaison, Nomvula Mokonyane, will meet with residents of Evaton in order to address their problems regarding a fraudulent housing scheme that is alleged to be run by a former local councillor, who have asked the affected people to pay R250 in return for low-cost housing.

Gauteng Premier Mbhazima Shilowa will unveil the model for the Nelson Mandela Bridge, which is part of the provincial government's Blue IQ initiatives. The bridge, which will link Newtown and Braamfontein, is to run between Bertha and West streets.
