KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, S'bu Ndebele condemns in strongest terms the assassination of Mr Thula Sithole, Chairman of the Durban Taxi Owners Association and his wife, Linda, in Chatsworth, Durban last night.
Mr Ndebele has asked senior police management to set-up a special investigation that has to ensure that those who planned and executed it are immediately brought before justice. He also urged members of the community to fully co-operate with the police in their endeavours to apprehend the culprits.
Mr Ndebele has called for calm and restraint within the taxi industry during this difficult trying moment.
In this regard, Ndebele sends his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved Sithole family, their four children, relatives and friends.
