The Mozambican authorities issued an urgent directive regarding the exportation of meat from South Africa and Swaziland to Mozambique:
The directive includes:
1.. The prohibition of the export of live cloven hoofed animals, its products, by-products, cacasses etc from South Africa and Swaziland to Mozambique;
2. The prohibition of the issuing of licenses for the importation of life cloven hoofed animals, its products, by-products and carcasses to Mozambique;
3. This measure excludes poultry, poultry products, eggs, ultra pasteurised milk and butter.
The abovementioned measures are strictly applied at all border posts between South Africa and Mozambique and Swaziland and Mozambique.
The South African Government cannot take any responsibility for any losses suffered by visitors to Mozambique for non-compliance to these measures and tourists to Mozambique are, therefore, strictly advised to adhere to these measures.
