Pretoria - Communications Minister Dr Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri has expressed regret at the death on Thursday of President Thabo Mbeki's spokesperson Parks Mankahlana.
"I have learnt with sadness the death of Parks Mankahlana. His death is regrettable, considering the mammoth task he has diligently undertaken in Government, having served as spokesperson for both presidents Nelson Mandela and Thabo Mbeki," said Dr Matsepe-Casaburri.
Dr Casaburri said death has robbed the Government communications fraternity "a great writer, and an intellectual who was not afraid to stimulate public debate on issues".
"Our sincere condolences go to his family. May his soul rest in peace," she added.
