The Department of Public Enterprises, Department of Minerals and Energy, Eskom and the National Electricity Regulator (NER) held a two-day workshop on October 24-25, 2000 to review the development of the Electricity Supply Industry policy framework and its potential impact on Eskom, including its developmental role.
Participants at the workshop acknowledged that considerable progress was made in reconciling the views of Eskom, NER and Government on the subject. Before the policy framework is finalised, a similar process of consultation is envisaged with Organised Labour within the context of the National Framework Agreement.
