The National Youth Commission (NYC) takes this opportunity to wish all matriculants well in the important final examinations they are currently facing. We applaud the commitment and effort of the thousands of matriculants who have buckled down to the priority task of preparing themselves for the most important academic examination of their lives thus far. South Africa needs skilled, educated young people and commitment to doing well in this examination is an expression of contribution to our country's success.
Matriculants should remain assured that the NYC continues to work concertedly with government departments and private agencies to ensure the growing availability of opportunities for young people leaving school as well as those already out of school in particular, with proposed legislation already submitted to the Presidency and pilot projects underway, the prospect of a National Youth Service as an avenue for the further development of skills, experience and opportunity for young school-leavers is now an increasing reality.
The first step to a promising future however is all yours - to work hard and pass this exam. Good luck from all at the National Youth Commission!
