Amnesty Committee of the TRC is in Durban at Christian Centre on Monday. The applicant applying for amnesty today is Christopher Mosiane, applying for amnesty of petrol bomb attack on house of Griffith Mxenge in Umlazi in 1984..and of another house he cannot remember.

He has not been imprisoned.

He committed the act with a group of other askaris that were sent from Vlakplaas by Eugene de Kok to target houses that were used for meetings by UDF activists.

The second Amnesty Applicant is an ANC member.

Sokhele Gwuala born in (1962) is serving 25 years for killing of the Mabaso family at Hammersdale near Durban.

He was sentenced on 7 May 1991.

Applying for amnesty because he says the killing arose out of a political motivation as the family murdered were involved in killing ANC members

The family were active IFP members.

The murders occurred at the time when there was rife political violence in mid-80's and there was conflict between the two parties, ANC and IFP.

He is applying for amnesty for two counts of murder and four other counts of attempted murder.

He is currently at Ncome Medium B Prison.

He claims the Mabaso clan had killed a girlfriend of his who is Thombiza Kweyama and his girlfriends father Mphikwa Gasa, both from Emalangeni near Hammersdale

He is also implicating Harry Gwala in Pietermaritzburg who he claims, supplied the firearms to carry out operation. The attack took place around 7.30pm in the evening.(Not certain of day or date)

He claims that after acquiring weapons he attacked the Mabaso family.
