An amnesty application of a former John Vorster Security Policeman Charles Zeelie is expected to be heard at the JISS Centre in Mayfair Johannesburg tomorrow Wednesday October 11. Zeelie is applying for among other acts, the killing of three PAC members during a high speed car chase at Corlette Drive in Johannesburg in 1987. He is also applying for various assaults and torture of political activists between 1975 to 1994.
Among those who were his victims are former Gauteng Premier Tokyo Sexwale, TRC Amnesty Committee member Jonas Ben Sibanyoni and George Martins. He claims not to remember other activists who were his victims.
The starting time for the Zeelie matter will depend on us finishing amnesty applications of four Ladybrand Security Policemen who have applied for abducting four ANC activists in 1987. The matters are currently being heard.
