GAUTENG LEGISLATURE WOMEN'S PARLIAMENT 2000

The Gauteng Legislature will hold its third Women's Parliament on the 30th of August 2000, at the Legislature building in Johannesburg.

The project aims to:

• mobilise the Legislatur on the programme of activities for women over the next five years.
• encourage women and their organisations to contribute to policy and programme formulation
• engage both civil society and government on issues affecting women in our society and the province
• encourage integrated approaches to women issues
• inform and educate women about the role and purpose of the legislature.
• educate and empower women about their rights under the current dispensation.

This Women's Parliament will serve as a platform to raise concerns of women in the Province.
