BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The 2000n SADC Summit will take place on the 7 August 2000 in Windhoek, Namibia. Summit will be preceded by the SADC Meeting of Senior Officials from the 1st - 3rd August and the SADC Council of Ministers on the 4th and 5th August 2000.
The venue of the meetings will be the Safari Hotel Conference Centre, Windhoek, Namibia.
President Mbeki will be present at the Summit Meeting. The South African delegation to the Council and Senior Officials Meeting will comprise South African Ministers and officials who are involved with regional initiatives. The Ministers delegation will be led by Minister Dr. N Dlamini-Zuma. The delegation will interact with their counterparts in the region to discuss general progress in the community in order to promote regional integration in Southern Africa. Of particular interest will be the SADC Review process.
