Dr Mustafa Moin, Minister of Science, Research and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran has been visiting South Africa from 28 May 2000 at the invitation of the Minister of Education, Professor Kader Asmal. Minister Moin visited a number of universities, technicons and scientific research institutions to explore possible areas of co-operation. Educational co-operation agreements have been signed with the University of Pretoria and the University of the Western Cape, which will facilitate the exchange of researchers, students and academic staff. Minister Moin also met with the Minister of Arts, Culture, Science and Technology, Dr Ben Ngubane and signed a Science and Technology Co-operation Agreement.
