On Wednesday May 31 a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, under the leadership of Foreign Affairs Minister, Mr Z Jovanovic, paid a brief courtesy call on South African Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Aziz Pahad.
Mr Jovanovic was enroute to Namibia, where he will be undertaking an official visit to that country before departing for Vietnam over the weekend.
The discussions with Deputy Minister Pahad focused mainly on multilateral issues, in particular the contentious issue of the membership of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia to both the non-aligned Movement and United Nations.
It was agreed that the South African and Yugoslavian governments will continue dialogue on this issues.
Minister Jovanovic also briefed Deputy Minister Pahad on the reconstruction process in Yugoslavia as well as the current situation in Kosovo.
