SA DELEGATION IN TRIPOLI FOR OAU DISCUSSIONS

Foreign Affairs Minister Nkosasana Dlamini-Zuma arrived in the Libyan capital Tripoli on Tuesday to lead a South African delegation to Organisation of African Unity for discussions on the African union and the Pan African parliament.

Spokesman for the Department Daniel Ngowepe said the South African delegation, led by Dlamini-Zuma include the speaker of the national assembly, Frene Ginwala and National Council of Provinces Chairman, Naledi Pandor.

"The meeting will be attended by foreign ministers and experts who are seeking to advance the shared vision of fostering African unity and prosperity in conformity with decisions taken by OAU heads of governments in a meeting which culminated Sirte declaration of 1999," Ngowepe said.

Minister Dlamini-Zuma will next proceed to Skaagen in Denmark to join President Thabo Mbeki at the Nordic-SA summit to be held on June 8.
