SATRA TO HOLD HEARINGS ON REGULATORY FRAMEWORK FOR VALUE ADDED NETWORK SERVICES AND PRIVATE TELECOMMUNICATIONS NETWORK SERVICES
Johannesburg Monday, 29 May 2000 - The South African Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (SATRA) will hold public hearings on the draft regulations for Value Added Network Services (VANS) and Private Telecommunications Network Services (PTNS) on the 1st and 2nd of June 2000.
The draft VANS and PTNS regulations are aimed at providing stability and regulatory certainty to the burgeoning industry of internet and data service providers in South Africa.
SATRA has invited public input into the draft regulations in the form of written representations and oral hearings. The oral hearings will take place at SATRA offices Block B, Pin Mill Farm, 164 Katherine Street Sandton, from 9h00.
The draft regulations for VANS and PTNs were published in the Government Gazette No 20866 of February 2000.
