Gauteng Premier Mbhazima Shilowa leaves on Saturday 13 May 2000 on an official visit to Israel and Palestine.
The purpose of the visit is to promote co-operation between Gauteng-based IT companies and their Israeli counterparts as well as to highlight investment opportunities in the IT industry in Gauteng Province.
The Premier's entourage includes MEC for Finance and Economic Affairs Jabu Moleketi, Gauteng Economic Development Agency CEO Charles Jonker and representatives of seven Gauteng based IT companies.
The delegation will attend a seminar on IT and Telecommunication to be hosted by the Israeli Government on Sunday 14 May 2000, where the Premier MEC Moleketi are expected to speak. The rest of the week will be spent on one-on-one meetings between the delegation and a number of Israeli companies.
The Premier and MEC Moleketi will proceed to Palestine on the 18th May 2000, while the rest of the delegation return to South Africa.
