Premier Mbhazima Shilowa has received information from the Heath Special Investigating Unit about officials in the Gauteng Housing department who may be implicated in corrupt practices. The Heath Unit had earlier reneged on its promise to release the information to the Premier claiming that its investigators were not "100% certain of their facts" and were not in "possession of concrete evidence to conclude a successful disciplinary hearin g, criminal or civil case"
The Premier did not accept this and insisted that the Unit should furnish him with the information.
The Premier will pass on the information received from the Heath Unit to his Legal Advisor Tefo Raditapole and MEC for Housing Paul Mashatile. They will study the information and advise him on appropriate measures to be taken against government officials i mplicated in the investigation.
