The South African constitution recognises the cultural rights of all South Africans, including the Deputy President.
The Deputy President has not, since taking office, made any special requests regarding his family, including the acquisition of cars for his spouses. The arrangements are determined by the existing rules relating to the spouses of Government Officials.
Therefore any discussion on what his family is entitled to should focus on the existing rules rather than try to impose one culture over another. His duties and the rules relating to his personal security dictate that the state has to take responsibility for the security of his family.
