The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Nkosazana Zuma will lead a South African Government delegation that includes the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aziz Pahad and Director-General Sipho Pityana to the 71st Ordinary Session of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) and 6th Ordinary Session of the African Economic Community (AEC) Council of Ministers in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from Wednesday 8 – 10 March 2000.
The Council of Ministers will discuss among other issues, conflict resolution, restructuring of the OAU, the proposed EU-Africa Summit and the process of establishing the African Economic Community (AEC).
Minister Zuma will return to South Africa on Thursday 9 and proceeds to Chile to attend the inauguration of the President of Chile, on behalf of President Thabo Mbeki .
