Former President Nelson Mandela will accompany Deputy President Jacob Zuma and Mr Bill Stavropoulos, Worldwide President and Chief Executive Officer of The Dow Chemical Company, on a visit to the Eastern Cape tomorrow January 29. The purpose of the visit is to identify a community-based project to which Dow will make a contribution.
The district of Middeldrift near Fort Hare University, in the Eastern Cape, was identified by the Deputy President in a recent visit to the area, requesting assistance in bringing social upliftment projects to their area.
Former President Mandela, Deputy President Zuma and Mr Stavropoulos will visit Middeldrift to inspect the area and to consider which of a number of proposed projects are most suitable. In this regard a meeting will be held with community members at Lamani Primary School in Lower Regu at 11h00.
