Professor Kader Asmal, MP, Minister of Education, has warmly welcomed the appointment of Mr Thamsanqa Dennis Mseleku as the Director General of Fducation, as approved by the Cabinet this morning.
Minister Asmal said he was looking forward to a most fruitful relationship with Mr Mseleku who brings considerable clout and formidable academic and administrative experience to the, post. Mr Mseleku has been a teacher, researcher, lecturer, trade union le ader, special adviser to the previous Minister of Education and most recently the Deputy Director General in charge of Corporate Affairs and Human Resources in the Department of Education. Mr Mseleku has a Master's Degree from the University of Durham in E ngland (1987).
Professor Asmat said: "It is South Africans with the administrative skills, policy background and drive - not to mention the writing ability - of Mr Mseleku who do their country vast credit, and offer all of us hope for the future".
