We would like to assure members of the public that the mission is in contact with British authorities, who will advise the mission accordingly. At the present moment no official report of South African casualties or fatalities has been received. We would like to urge all friends and family who have concerns for South African relatives or friends to contact and work with the British authorities and the South African High Commission on the matter. The emergency number supplied by the UK police is (0171)834 7777. The High Commission can be contacted in London on (017)451-7299.
The South African High Commission would like to take this opportunity to offer, as far as it can, any assistance and support it can render in the matter.
